Nexans given prestigious award by Swedish telco Skanova

Nexans has beaten off competition from the likes of byNet and Nordlund Entreprenad to be named Fibre Company of the Year by telecommunications company Skanova.

The annual award presented by Skanova, Sweden's largest provider of network capacity to telephony and broadband operators, recognises companies that excel in developing fibre infrastructure, either through innovative business models or by being a role model when it comes to running local and global initiatives that create value for customers and society at large.

The award was presented by Skanova CEO, Ove Alm at the Swedish Museum of Photography in Stockholm. At the presentation, he said, "Nexans is a global supplier of copper and fibre solutions for cable systems and has in recent years shown a great understanding of its customers' needs."

Alm continued, "The company has built a strong research and development division and has consistently invested in comprehensive solutions for both the local and international market. "By continuously developing sustainable products, working innovatively with recycling and starting a foundation for sustainable solutions and reducing energy poverty, Nexans also created great public benefit."

Rick Johansson, VP Sales and Marketing for Nexans, commented, "I see this award as proof that our work, in close collaboration with our customers, constantly developing new products and solutions, is absolutely right and also appreciated by both customers and the industry."
