TE Connectivity Announces ELCON Mini Power Connectors and Cable Assemblies

E Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, today announced its ELCON Mini power connectors and cable assemblies—the latest innovation in its proven line of ELCON power solutions. The ELCON Mini family of products makes it easier for engineers to address increasing power demands, delivering a 400 Volt rating and up to 40 Amps per contact in a 2-position, 8mm high form factor that is roughly the size of a popular HDMI connector.

Power engineers and designers often need to be able to make power connections with limited available space and budget along with increasing power demands that can pose quite a challenge. ELCON Mini power connectors and cable assemblies are value engineered to address many power and space requirements with 2-, 3-, 4- and 6(2x3)-position configurations, while providing a positive metal latch connection, low resistance, and highly reliable interface. Cable assembly solutions from TE also offer high-flex and customizable break-out options for easy routing and installation.

In addition to power input/output (I/O) and distribution applications, ELCON Mini connectors and cable assemblies are an internal wire-to-board power solution for the Open Compute Project (OCP) "Wedge" (top-of-rack) switches. The OCP is developing standard data center hardware designs that manufacturers can use to build highly compatible and scalable products with minimal development costs. Leveraging its decades of engineering experience and agility that come from offering one of the industry's largest connector portfolios, TE is continuing to lead in providing power solutions for the OCP community.
