COMPANY BACKGROUND

Wonderful Wire & Cable Berhad (WWC) was created from the composition of dreams visualized by a group of individuals who saw the potential in their own immense experience in cable and wire manufacturing as well as their understanding in marketing. WWC was materialized from a shared vision into a strong steadfast empire because these individuals wanted to take advantage over the prospective anticipated demands of electronic wires, automobile cables and flexible power cords in the electronic industries, the newly emerged National Car and Motorcycle industries and the household appliance manufacture, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) factories.



The commercial evolution of WWC started its small scale production in late 1989, but has never looked back since its demands increased over the years. Throughout the years WWC has been expanding in terms of capital, factory area, production capacity, cable & wire range as well as sales turnover.

1990 marked a historical event when a Joint-Venture agreement and Technical Co-operation was signed between WWC and Showa Electric Wire & Cable, a leading cable manufacturer from Japan. This Joint Venture has worked in favor of WWC in many factors. It has managed to intensify the manufacturing techniques, quality control and has assisted in widening WWC's products range.

WWC took various prospects generated by Malaysia's tremendous economic growth and move to industrialize the nation by year 2020 when it constructed another plant in 1992 to manufacture a full range of Low Voltage PVC and XLPE Insulated Power Cables to cater for the demands made possible by the variety of infrastructure, industrial and property developments in addition to rural electrification programmes.

Year 1995 saw the transformation of WWC as it became a public company and in August 1996 WWC obtained approval from relevant authorities for the company to be listed on Bursa Saham Malaysia.

Globalization - Increase our market ratio from focusing on domestic market to overseas by getting recognition from international society as ISO/TS16949. It has created a big impact on the marketing capability, for example our customer, LEAR who has the IPO status (MNC) has given us 5 years of long supply agreement and has entered our company in their system as a global partner.

Partnership – Develop an establish relationships with customers with the approach of a partnership concept. It gives an advantage to both organizations. The product development establishes long term planning between supplier and customer. This will result in a long term business relation between the two organizations.

Improvement – Continually show commitment towards the betterment of the system, product, and environment as well as human development.

Innovative – Contributing extra effort into the organization by spending large amounts of investment on the conventional equipment for testing and reliability. Associate with local varsity or NGO for research and development, and earn recognition from the government of Malaysia.
   
CERTIFICATIONS AND RECOGNITION

WWC has always been acknowledged for keeping abreast with technology. Throughout the years, while technology is becoming the new race of the century where every company is striving to keep ahead of time, WWC has managed to gain multiple recognitions for its technical knowledge in the cable and wire industries.

Due to WWC's commitment in terms of quality, reliability and customers' satisfaction, we have acquired quality recognition over the years from local as well as overseas testing bodies, as listed below:-

1. Standard & Industrial Research Institute Of Malaysia (SIRIM)
2. Underwriters Laboratory of United States Of America (UL)
3. Canadian Standard Of Association (CSA)
4. Japanese Quality Assurance (F'MARK)
5. Japan Electrical Safety & Environment Technology Laboratories ('DENTORI')
6. VDE, IEC, AS
Besides above product recognitions, WWC was also obtain system certifications such as ISO 9001: 2000 Version and ISO/TS16949.
                                                                                     
Due to our outstanding increase in our market ratio from focusing on domestic market to overseas market we have transformed our QMS from Local Certification Body (SIRIM-QAS) to International Certification Body Standardization (AFAQ AFNOR) by getting recognition from international society as ISO/TS16949.
