Fort Wayne Medical Wire Maker to Add 106 Jobs in Expansion

A Fort Wayne company that produces fine grade medical wire plans to expand its Allen County operations.

Fort Wayne Metals, which employs more than 650 associates in Indiana and more than 700 around the world said that the expansion will add 106 new local jobs by 2017.

The company said that it will spend USD 29.4 million to build and equip a 33,000 square foot facility at its 50 acre Ardmore Avenue campus in Fort Wayne. The company already has 7 production facilities, a warehouse, a research and development center and a metallurgical laboratory in Fort Wayne as well as a production, warehouse and sales facility in Ireland. The expansion will allow it to produce more stainless steel, nickel, cobalt, nitinol and titanium wire, as well as composite materials.
