HISTORY
A FAMILY OWNED AND OPERATED COMPANY WITH A BIG VISION.
Although we now work in over 70 countries around the world, Medek & Schörner continues to be a family owned and operated company that combines traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology.

1ST GENERATION
1929-1956
Founded in 1929 by Josef Medek and Gustav Schörner senior as a workshop for precision machinery, it became specialised in the 1950s for the manufacturing of marking devices for cord-shaped products, primarily wires, cables, pipes and profiles.

2ND GENERATION
1956–1969
Gustav Schörner junior (the son of the founder) and Fritz Descovich senior (the son-in-law of Josef Medek) open the company to the global market and create an international network of representatives. On the technical side of things, electronics continue to be added to the precision mechanics, allowing the construction of complex system controls and work at the leading edge of technology.

3RD GENERATION
1969–2013
With the construction of the production facility equipped with state-of-the-art tools and machines in Großebersdorf near Vienna in 1989 and the focus on research and development, especially for complex electronic control systems, the possibility was created both to continue to produce classic products in outstanding quality as well as to remain constantly at the forefront of technology.
Fritz Descovich junior, Kurt Descovich and Werner Lichtscheidl persistently continued the traditions of their forefathers: the highest state of technical knowledge thanks to well-educated personnel and state-of-the-art production technology result in the high level of quality of the productions.

4TH GENERATION
2013–HEUTE
Rudolf Descovich, who had already worked for the company for many years, was named managing director in 2013. After the retirement of his father Kurt Descovich and his uncle Fritz Descovich in 2013, this has secured the continuation of the successful family tradition.
