Cables RCT    

We are independent Spanish manufacturers of low voltage power cables located in Zaragoza. The aim of this catalogue is to present our current product range, which, as we like to say, focuses on cables that are sold every day.  It also shows the major lines of our business philosophy, based on long-term commitment, safety and trust. We want Cables RCT to be a supplier of cables for every day use and cables for a life time.

Our history


Our company began manufacturing in 1965, in some commercial premises on the ground floor of a block of flats in the city of Zaragoza. We started off manufacturing rubber cables but soon these were abandoned for PVC cables, a product that started to replace older techniques thanks to its excellent physical characteristics and process ease. At that time, our company had a different name: SA Manufacturas RCT. This name was changed in 1990 to Cables RCT, with the intention of reinforcing the identification of the company with the product.  It seems a long time ago now when Gonzalo Mateos, our Chairman and founder, moved the company to larger premises, in 1966, but still within the city boundaries. We still preserve the enterprising and fighting spirit of those times, however.




In 1973 the factory was moved to an industrial building, the first one and the first factory as such. The smart decision to aim the production at PVC cables and market them through organised distribution channels was consolidated there. This strategic commercial decision, resting the responsibility for distributing our products on the collaboration with electrical material distributors, has been and still is one of the most important identity marks of Cables RCT. Our way of working, our product range, our commercial structure, all those basic factors have been deeply marked and orientated by this decision.


Soon the production and marketing requirements led to the need to increase the production capacity and the factory moved to a new facility. The most important part of our production process is still carried out today on those premises although an adjacent building was purchased in 1997, now known as RCT 2, where the measurement and storage work is carried out, together with the administrative offices and the commercial department.  We currently have logistic warehouses in Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, which, together with our facilities in Zaragoza, enables us to supply all our customers, throughout the length and breadth of the country, as well as attend to customers in more than twenty countries.


But this long process has not ended yet. The desire and commitment of all of us who form part of the Cables RCT team is for this to be a never-ending process. Our company is still inspired by that same spirit that we have worked with over all these years: to be a reliable and trustworthy supplier, a supplier to depend upon every day.  Our ambition is to continue to such a supplier forever, and that a splendid future will await us, accompanied by our customers and suppliers.

All our processes are subject to a rigorous control based on the UNE-EN ISO 9001 standard, certified by Aenor. We are pioneers in modern quality assurance systems, our products are certified by AENOR/Cenelec, AFNOR, VDE and UL. We are approved suppliers for different institutions, councils, centralised management systems (Repro) and for major companies.

Our commitment to customer satisfaction, and the quality of our products and services, means that we are also concerned with what the customer wants and how we can solve their problems before looking for guilty parties. We give answers and not excuses.

Environment



We have been certified according to the UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard on environmental management since 1997, guaranteeing that we satisfy all the relevant environmental legislations. Thanks to the methods used and the strict monitoring of all the environmental aspects we comfortably pass the legal requirements on a regular basis.

The working life of our products can be measured by decades thus guaranteeing an environmentally adequate use of the raw materials that comprise them. Furthermore, the majority of our products and all the packaging materials that we use are easily recyclable, thus ensuring an efficient and sustainable use.
