Company Overview

Gendon Polymer Services is a specialty compounder based in Bolton, Ontario, Canada. Gendon, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is prime developer of custom compounds for a wide range of applications from wire and cable to building and construction, as well as highly engineered technical compounds for injection molding applications.

Founded in 1993, Gendon has deep experience in the design and processing of rubber and polymer-based compounds. In addition, Gendon manufactures masterbatch compounds used in industrial applications such as mining and tunnel ventilation, building products notably replica cedar siding and steep-slope roofing.
Gendon offers a wide range of masterbatches, thermoplastic-based and thermoset compounds:

    Polyolefin-based compounds (e.g., PP, PE, EVA...)
    Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE)-based compounds
    Low smoke halogenated and non-halogenated flame retardant (FR) compounds and masterbatches
    UV-stabilized masterbatches
    Color concentrates
    Conductive polymer compounds
    Carbon-black masterbatches

Gendon's product line encompasses thermoplastics and thermoset-based materials, with special focus on halogen free Flame-Retardant compounds with low smoke generation. For thermosets, Gendon offers radiation cure (EV beam) as well as chemical cure (CV and Mold Cure) technologies for the North American and global marketplace.

Gendon's portfolio of products have been designed for challenging applications in military, naval shipboard, transit, communications, power & utility, renewable energy (PV, wind), oil & gas, and industrial markets. For decades, Gendon products have performed consistently in extremely harsh, aggressive environments where flammability, electrical performance, and chemical resistance are critical. With well-established product brands such as Genflam®, Genfil® and GenNex®, Gendon excels at solving its customers' formulation challenges.

Charles Clement President & General Manager     graduate of the University of Paris in Chemical Engineering and holder of PhD in Materials Process Engineering     over 20 years of experience in various engineering, new business development and R&D roles in wire & cable manufacturing, chemicals and plastics, and advanced composites     been with Marmon for 8 years and with Gendon since July 2020     areas of expertise include materials engineering, process engineering, growth strategy formulation, new business development, marketing, operations, financial stewardship, pricing and corporate relations     patent-holder of 3 U.S. Patents – No. 9,343,204, No. 9,608,424 B2, and No. 9,649,797 B1     hobbies include reading, anisette making, table tennis and spending time with family and friends

R&D and Technical Services

Gendon Polymers' research and development centre is continually developing new compounds to meet the expanding needs of our customers.

Our knowledgeable and highly skilled team of scientists and technicians stay on top of the latest scientific breakthroughs in order to design and develop custom compounds that meet their specific needs and applications.

As a specialty compounding house with world leading polymer knowledge, Gendon works closely with the largest wire and cable houses in the world to help develop specialty products for the marketplace. Because of the sensitive intellectual property that is shared between Gendon and our customers, we commonly establish development and commercial NDA's that protect our customer's interests.

Our company has the equipment and technical knowledge to analyze thermal, physical, rheological and flame retardant properties of compounds and tailor formulations to pass the specific requirements or applications.
