General Cable Announces Publication Allowing GenSPEED® Brand CBrand Cables to Contribute Toward LEED

General Cable is pleased to announce the publication of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for its GenSPEED® Brand Data Communications cables at the 2016 BICSI Winter Conference (Booth #401/500) in Orlando. The EPDs for GenSPEED Brand cables will contribute toward points in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design™ (LEED®) certification process for building projects. Created and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, the LEED green building program is the preeminent program for the design, construction, maintenance and operations of high-performance green buildings.
                                           
Independently verified, an EPD is a report that describes the impact of a product or product family to the environment throughout its lifecycle. EPDs have been published and certified by UL Environment for General Cable's full line of GenSPEED Brand category cables. These EPDs can be used toward satisfying Materials and Resources Credit under LEED v4.
