History

Josef Medek  Heute

Medek & Schörner was established in 1929 by Josef Medek and Gustav Schörner as a mechanical engineering firm. The company has been specializing for more than fifty years in designing and building marking machines for continuously produced goods such as wires, cables, tubing and sections. The Medek & Schörner product range includes a wide variety of marking equipment from simple marking heads to fully automated high performance systems for use in advanced production lines.

Cable Marking Systems - Optical Fibre Coding Systems

The product range begins with extremely simple coding machines, and extends all the way to fully automated machines using cutting-edge technology for use in high-speed production lines.


HOT FOIL LENGTH MARKING

Medek & Schörner's FMS Series is a hot foil marking system for the coloured length marking of either hot or cooled insulation or pipes in metres or feet. At the same time, it can also be used to emboss text, company logo and/or any desired coding in an unrivalled, sharp quality.

LENGTH STAMPING MACHINES

The KMS Series includes embossing markers for the colourless embossing of hot or cold cables or pipes.

RING MARKING MACHINES

The Series RS and RC ring marking systems were developed by Medek & Schörner for coding telephone, switch or automotive wires with coloured rings. The machines in this series are ideally suited for use immediately after the extruder head at speeds of up to 2,500 m/min.

GRAVURE PRINTERS

The KS Series comprises high-quality gravure printers for the coding of hot or cold cables or conductor insulation at output speeds of up to 1,500 m/min. Etched, exchangeable print wheels ensure the excellent print quality of all text and figures.

OPTICAL FIBRE COLOUR CODING SYSTEMS

Medek & Schörner developed its concept for coating optical fibres with ultra-violet hardening inks in close co-operation with companies in the cable industry: the concept has already proved its worth in numerous applications throughout the world. The GFP Series offers an optimal solution to every application, from compact single-line machine for maximum speeds of up to 3,000 m/min all the way through to complete colour coding systems for six fibres.

FIBRE RIBBON PRODUCTION LINE

The FRP 05 high-performance ribbon production machine makes it possible to glue up to 12 or 2x12 fibres (24-fibre ribbon) to form fibre ribbons with excellent planarity at high production speeds of up to 1,000 m/min.
