ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Newage Cables (Private) Limited is the largest cable manufacturer of Pakistan and the 1st in its category to be accredited with ISO 9000 certification. Newage believes in quality products and therefore, is equipped with the latest machinery, highly skilled manpower and modern testing laboratories. Its 25 acres plant located at 18th km Lahore-Sheikhupura Road is well equipped and capable of manufacturing wide range of products. Newage has been regularly supplying conductors to Water & power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Karachi Electric (K-Electric) and underground distribution cables. At the same time, Newage is leading source of meeting cable requirements of private sector of Pakistan. In order to add value to its manufacturing capabilities, Newage has also established Copper Rod, Aluminium Rod, Galvanized Steel, Plastic & Chemical plants which not only provide raw materials to its cable plants but also meet requirements of other cable industries in Pakistan. Particularly, various grades of Calcium Carbonate manufactured by Newage Chemicals are supplied to all major national and multinational conglomerates operating in Pakistan. Newage is proud in contributing in country's development by supplying cables and other products to various Power Plants, Chemical Plants, Cement Plants, Fertilizer Plants and Sugar & Textile units.

Newage manufactures variety of products starting from house wires and ranging upto 22 kV underground cables along with other products. Complete product range can be viewed in Product Range. These products are manufactured to BS standards, the prevalent cable standard in Pakistan; however, Newage is capable and experienced in manufacturing products complying with other international standards like IEC, DIN & ASTM etc.

Newage is a company that has gone through many changes and challenges over the years and always emerged as a winner with significant sustainable growth. In past 58 years we have added number of cable manufacturing lines, established new supporting plants, and quadrupled our work-force that has increased our core manufacturing capacity significantly and improved quality of products. As a result, Newage Cables (Pvt) Limited today is the largest cable & conductor manufacturer of Pakistan and a commitment of quality and service in all the operating portfolios.
Newage has been contributing to the national growth over the years by supplying its quality products to various government and private projects. In addition to that Newage has been regularly exporting its products to overseas markets which is a proven testimony of its international quality.

Our Plants

Newage manufacturing facilities are located at 18th km Lahore-Sheikhupura road and stretched over 25 acres of land. Facilities have plants mentioned in the following section.

Our plants are equipped with the most modern machinery for both manufacturing and testing, and special care is taken to ensure an excellent product quality. General production complies with British Standard Specification (BSS) and International Electro-technical Commission (IEC).

Cable & Conductor Plant



Cable & Conductor manufacturing is the core business of Newage Group. The first plant was established in year 1956 which has been continuously augmented and improved by additional machines. These Plants are used to manufacture all types of cables and conductors.

Copper Rod Plant



Copper Rod plant is used to manufacture 8 mm copper rod from the imported copper cathodes.

The in-house copper rod manufacturing ensures the required minimum purity of 99.90% of copper, which is maintained throughout the cable manufacturing. Newage copper rod meets all copper requirements of internal cables manufacturing and surplus rod is sold to other cable manufacturers.

Aluminium Rod Plant



Aluminium is widely used in manufacturing of overhead conductors and for aluminium conductor cables. The plant converts imported aluminium ingots to the 9.5 mm aluminium rod, which is further drawn into smaller wires for manufacturing of aluminium conductors.

The produced rod ensures requirement of minimum aluminium purity of 99.70%.

Steel Wire Galvanizing Plant



Galvanized Steel Wires (GSW) are used for armouring of underground cables and the steel cores of overhead Aluminium Conductors Steel Reinforced (ACSR). Newage GSW plant galvanizes variety of steel wires according to cable and conductor requirements by Hot Dip Galvanizing process according to British Standards 1442 & 4565 categories A & B.

Chemical Plant



Newage Chemical Plant manufactures various grades of Calcium Carbonate which is base ingredient of many items.

Plastic Plant



Newage Plastic Plant manufactures Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) which is mainly used in cable insulation and sheathing. PVCs are manufactured in type TI.1 (70o C) and type T9 (90o C). In addition to that, Newage also manufactures Flame Retardant (FR) and Anti Termite (AT) PVCs which are used for special cable sheaths.

All type of PVCs are used in Newage cables and supplied to other cable manufacturers as well.

OUR HISTORY



Newage was established in 1956 by Mr. Mir Muhammad Azam with the vision of self reliance of a nascent nation and commitment to contribute country's development by supplying high quality indigenous products to the electrical and industrial infrastructure at competitive rates. With the policy of continuous improvement and growth, Newage today can proudly claim to be one of the major industries of Pakistan with manpower strength of more than 1200 employees.
