Founded in 1969, Kukdong Electric Wire Co., Ltd, as an all-round cable maker, occupies the number 1 position in the world in the area of shipboard and offshore cables which require stringent quality features. Furthermore, in 1998 and 2000, Kukdong was selected as having the world ' s best capital equipment for electrical cables for ocean vessel use, and was awarded the Gold Tower for export and the President ' s Award for Labor & Management Culture prize, and established leading technology and labor & management relations not only within the industry but also externally. Kukdong Electric Wire provided an international launching platform by its merger with the Nexans Group of France in 2003, the leading electrical cable manufacturer in the world. The sales revenue in 2012 is USD260M and employs 283 talented people with manufacturing plant in Jincheon.

Kukdong Electric Wire provided an international launching platform by its merger with the Nexans Group of France in 2003, the leading electrical cable manufacturer in the world. The sales revenue in 2012 is USD260M and employs 283 talented people with manufacturing plant in Jincheon.
Main products are shipboard, offshore, LAN, Nuclear and Power Cables. Through continuous technological development, Kukdong Electric Wire added acceleration to the production of new products and became the nation' s first to develop the CCP-SZ cable for telecommunications use, and also completed the development of disaster reduction cables for ocean use, flame retardant cables, specialized naval vessel cables, F/S cables etc. In

1988, a corporate research division was established to double the R&D efforts for the development of new products and technological innovation, and was awarded the IR52 Jang Young Shil Award as well as receiving the KT (Korea Good Technology) mark for the development of disaster reduction fire prevenion cables with non-toxic flame retardant, low smoke, fireproof qualities in cooperation with the Electrical Engineering & Science Reserch Institute. Kukdong was selected the worlds best product for shipboard cables from Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy in 2002. Major items for marine and shipboard cables includes IEC,JIS,HIS, VG, IEEE, DIN, NEK, BS and MIL.

Since our etablishement in 1969, Kukdong Electric Wire has been contributing to the advancement of the cable industry whichis known as a key national industry. We are especially being recognized by our customers as leaders of the world market in electrical cables for shipboard and offshore.

We are also being appraised as outstanding in the quality and technology of our LAN cables for information telecommunications use. This has not been achieved in just a moment in time. It is a valuable accomplishment gained by ceaseless effort over the last 30 years with a creative and challenging mind. As a one global village through innovative developments in information telecommunications, we have welcomed the era of unlimited competition.
The fact that we cannot survive if we are not number 1 came to us as a clear reality. In the face of this reality, we merged with the Nexans Group of France in May 2003, the largest electrical cable group in the world through their participation in our stocks.

By introducing world standard development capability & quality together with management techniques from Nexans, Kukdong Electric Wire has started a challenge full of hope for our leap into the world market.
