About Us

Special Cables was incorporated as a private limited company in the year 1983 to cater to the need of industry and institutions for the supply of all types of Special Cables viz. Telephone Cables, Co-axial Cables, Screened Instrumentation Cables, Flexible Cables, Radio-frequency Cables, Compensating and Thermocouple Cables, Rubber Cables etc. We even met the requirement of our customers by importing cables for very high temperature applications as well as supplied PIJF Cables of 1200 pairs in the eighties.
       
Subsequently, for last 15 years the company expanded its Range of Products by adding all other standard PVC & XLPE insulated Cables to its fold and have manufactured and supplied complete range of Power Cables in Single Core upto 1200 You are not allowed to view links. We have exported cables worth millions of Rupees to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria and erstwhile USSR.

Our Group comprises of the following organizations.

Special Cable Industries is holding BIS licenses for IS:694 & IS:1554 Pt(I) and installed capacity of Rs. 400 million per annum. It has complete Plant - Machinery & Testing Equipment to manufacture upto 630 You are not allowed to view links. Control Cables in PVC/FR/FRLS insulating materials as well as AAC/AAAC & ACSR Conductors.

The unit comprises of 3 no. working halls with working area of 20000 sq. ft. and open area of 5000 sq.ft.
   
Special Cables (P) Ltd. has a well equipped modern plant at Mohan Co-operative Industrial Estate, Badarpur, New Delhi – adjoining Delhi/Faridabad border to manufacture even import substitution cables in addition to L.T. PVC/XLPE Cables, FRLS/Fire Survival Cables, Telephone Cables armoured/unarmoured, Power/Energy Cables, Control Cables, Screened Instrumentation Cables, Co-axial Cables, Signal/Data Cables, Compensating Cables, Railway Signaling Cables, Indoor Wiring and Flexible Cables as well as Conductors & Aerial Bunched Cables etc.   
   
The installed capacity of this plant is Rs. 600 million /annum employing about 160 people. The unit holds valid BIS Licences for IS:694, IS:1554 Pt(I), IS:7098 Pt(I) and IS:14255. The unit is spread over 40000 sq.ft. production floor area with over 6000 sq.ft. of the technical /office block. It is equipped with latest full range of Testing & QC instruments and equipments. It can manufacture Multi Core Power Cables upto 4 Core x 630 You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. (AYFY) and Single Core upto 1250 You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. in various insulating materials using both copper as well as aluminium conductor. Control Cables can be manufactured upto 61 Core x 2.5 sq .mm. both armoured and unarmoured and Telephone Cables upto 200 Pairs construction. Screened instrumentation cables upto 36 pairs, both individually as well as overall screened can be manufactured. Complete range of conductors & Aerial Bunched Cables can be manufactured and tested as per international specifications.   

The company is also setting up a large Industrial unit at Pant Nagar, Uttaranchal, spread over 20000 Sq.M. to manufacture upto 133 KV XLPE insulated cables as well as A.B. Cables. Major equipments have been ordered and the plant to expected to come into production by early 2007. It shall have installed capacity to manufacture cables & conductors of Rs. 5000 million/annum with employment of over 250 workmen. The unit has been designed to acquire most modern manufacturing & testing equipment as well as the state of art technology .

Future Plan

The company has decided to expand and enhance its capacity for the manufacture of Power Cables as well as Aerial Bunched Cables. Efforts are on to finalize a joint venture with a leading foreign company to set up state-of-art production, testing and R & D facilities for the manufacture of High Voltage Power Cables and to meet the growing potential in Indian market owing to switching over to Cables from Conductors in this sector by Power Transmission Companies.

Cables are manufactured under strict quality control guidelines. Quality is ensured through stage-wise checks right from the raw material stage. Quality checks are carried out at every stage of manufacture for eliminating substandard material at each stage. A fully equipped raw material testing laboratory and final inspection area is available for testing 'raw materials' and 'finished cables' according to rigid standards. As part of the Quality Assurance, process inspection is meticulously conducted at every stage of production.

Plant, Machinery & Testing equipment are being selected/imported from leading foreign equipment manufacturers to achieve high quality production standards.
