Hitachi Metals, Ltd.(formerly Hitachi Cable, Ltd.) and Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. jointly established JPS by integrating their high-voltage power cable business sections, their core business sectors enjoying the support and patronage of many customers for 90 to 100 years, and started its operation in October 2001.

The business integration is structured so as to preserve and develop the outstanding technological development competence of both companies, and to enhance cost competitiveness, thereby to promote a stable supply and better service for users.

There is no doubt that electricity is an essential part of our business and daily life in modern society. High Voltage Power Cables and Overhead Conductors, manufactured and supplied by J-Power Systems, is one of the most important component supporting social infrastructures akin to the blood vessel in human body.

With more than 100 years history in development and manufacturing of Power Cables started by Hitachi Metals（formerly Hitachi Cable) & Sumitomo Electric, we are proud of our mission and contribution to the society by supplying state-of-the-art wire & cables to help stable and efficient supply of electricity in the world.

We would like to specially note that we were appointed to supply and install power cables to the areas severely damaged by the earthquake hit Eastern Japan on March 11, 2011. With the completion of supply and installation of such power cables, we are re-assured that fulfillment of demands & needs in society is the most important mission of our company. We would like to express heartfelt sympathy to the victims of earthquake & Tsunami, and sincerely wish for the early recovery of all damages caused by this disaster.

Thanks to kind and continuous support from our clients in the world, we, J-Power Systems, has marked its 10th anniversary in October 2011.
