Fine Wire Drawing Machine

Single-wire drawing machine
Drawing machines for intermediate wire drawing, fine wire and superfine wire
Economical, high-precision wire drawing
Although multiwire drawing machines are now firmly established in most industries these days, there are still some applications for which single-wire drawing machines continue to be the better alternative in economic or technological terms. Fine wire and superfine wire for electronics, such as bond wire for example, is manufactured almost exclusively on compact single-wire drawing machines.

Multiple wire drawing machines for single-wire have been around ever since the late nineteenth century. Where special requirements have to be met in terms of wire material, inline-capability and output, these machines are still in use throughout the world today.

Maschinenfabrik NIEHOFF was quick to develop drawing machines specially for applications in these high-tech industries with increasing demands. 1997 saw the introduction of the first MKN 100 wet drawing machine for superfine wire with a laser diameter monitoring, integrated wire spooler and optoelectronic wire traversing control.

NIEHOFF single-wire drawing machine

In 1954, the first NIEHOFF type 354 and 154 drawing machines for multi-stage single-wire drawing of copper wire; drawing process completely immersed; drawing speeds of up to 30 m/s
In 1966, the M 30 cone-type drawing machine for intermediate wire drawing; with annealer (recrystallization annealing), which can be combined with a wire spooler, extruder and galvanic tinning line
In 1975, 21-draft M 250 single-wire drawing machine for intermediate wire drawing, which can be combined with an annealer and spooler; drawing speed of up to 63 m/s; drawing of copper wire with diameters of 3.0 to 0.2 mm
1997 saw the introduction of the MKN 100 drawing machine for superfine wire, the precursor of the MKN 101 and MKN 102  models (bond wire); minimum diameter of 0.025 mm; laser diameter monitoring, integrated wire spooler, optoelectronic wire traversing control
In 2009, MSM 224 electronically controlled single-wire drawing machine for intermediate wire drawing, with minimized slip operation; individually driven, electronically controlled capstans; diameter range of 3.5 to 0.8 mm for copper wire
