VIDA group is the largest privately owned Swedish sawmilling organization with a total turnover of 4 billion SEK (~420 million €). The main business is sawn softwood exported to the whole world, coming from seven sawmills. In the group is also VIDA Packaging AB with a total turnover of around 500 million SEK (~50 million €). We are a small family company that has grown, based in the entrepreneurial part of Sweden; Småland. Our products from Småland has effectively been distributed througout the globe and we will continue growing.



We are the biggest producer of pallets and pallet collars in the Nordic countries and we have five factories in Sweden and one site in Estonia. In Hestra, south of Sweden we produce wooden cable drums according to mainly K-standard but also Anje standard and to customer specific needs. We source our raw material (Picea Abies and Pinus Sylvestris) from sustainable Swedish sources that is processed in our own close-by sawmills. In Hestra the raw material for the packaging production, including cable drums, is sourced from the sawmill 100 meters away, meaning stable control over the raw material flows and quality.

In Hestra we have been producing wooden cable drums for decades. The production of cable drums and spools started in 1955. Great knowledge is present within the company, our plant manager in Hestra, Torbjörn has been in the cable drum industry for a long time and in different companies. Our white collar workers has experience from the practical work in the factories.

There is no shortage of trees in Sweden, in fact the growth is larger than the annual cut - meaning there is growing volumes of forest each year. No need to be sorry for the harvested trees here. There is a a growing focus on sustainability and we can provide PEFC certification meaning we know what happens in the forest to the finished cable drum for our customers.

Our capacity is 300 000 drums per year. Our rational equipment and well-advised investments means that we can produce packaging in short and long series cost effectively. We produce K5-K32 in our factory.

Our markets are Sweden and Europe where we offer both mounted cable drums ready-for-cable or provided in kits for own assembling or under our auspices. We also offer logistics services , i.e. handling warehousing, internal logistics, return handling, manning as well as assembling cable drums and other services in close proximity to our customers.
